About Community Homes of Lebanon County in Lebanon, PA

Community Homes of Lebanon County, Inc. in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, was organized by two dozen faith-based and civic-minded organizations who understood the need for affordable, senior, rental housing in Lebanon. In 1968, the group was incorporated as a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization. Subsequently, our organization applied for and was granted status as a Community Housing Development Organization.

Building History

In May 1972, the construction of our first apartment building, Willow Terrace, was complete, providing 100 efficiency and one-bedroom apartments. Ten years later, our second apartment building, Poplar Terrace, was opened. It provided 77 apartments. Then, ten years following Poplar, Tulpehocken Terrace opened in Myerstown, hosting 46 apartments. Maple Terrace, Oak Terrace, and Hill Terrace soon followed.
Unlike the other newly constructed buildings, Oak Terrace was the renovation of an historic early 1900s building, which was originally built as a home for aged women. Giving new life to this building and the renewed purpose of providing affordable senior housing, this property also serves as the location of our main offices.

Community Services

In 2010, Community Homes purchased the former Boyer Printing property and transformed the site into two modern and attractive commercial buildings. In partnership with Welsh Mountain Health Center, the north building has become home to the Albright LIFE Center, an all-inclusive model of home and community-based care for people aged 55 years old and older. The north building on this site is slated to become the home for Lebanon Ridge Oral Health, a 12-room dental care facility. The north building is now home to Lebanon Ridge Oral Health.

Our Mission

Community Homes of Lebanon County, in partnership with others, provides housing, related facilities, and supportive services so that each person, whose life we touch, may realize more fully his or her potential for physical, social, mental, and spiritual well-being.
